This is awesome! Even as someone who uses Bricks (and soon moving to Etch) this is still helpful. I actually just redid my starter a few days before you announced the livestream, so I may go make some tweaks.
Have you considered sharing the Notion doc as well? One thing I haven’t done is write everything down, so seeing how someone else does it would be super helpful!

Oh wow, knowing it was helpful outside of GP/GB is very interesting — didn’t know anyone besides Generate folks would watch, so I’m super glad to hear you got something out of it 🙌
As for the notion doc, it was really just a very long bulleted list to make sure I went in the right order for the video to make sense (which, kinda worked 🤣). I’m not so sure it would be helpful, but I’ll clean it up and add it!

Ditto to what Alisha said. I find it so helpful to have a list of the things you preset that i might want to consider pre-setting in my theme of choice 🙂
Kyle•
Really glad to hear that, Melissa 🙌

Kyle, thanks for sharing. I have watched it multiple times and learned a lot.
As a result, I’m new to Barfly and have built my copy. The layout is really tight. The video answers many of those fork-in-the-road areas, like whether to use the customizer or not. And the Perfomatters config file is well worth the admission price. I hope to stick around.

Awesome as always. I think you need to change the element type to “loop template” instead of “content template” in the Search Result elements. If you don’t do that you’ll get X times results.

Being new to GeneratePress/Blocks was wondering what is the best way to install this starter theme when creating a new project? For example using a backup plugin perhaps? or does GP have a theme export/import we can use for this? Thanks!

Hello Kyle,
Could you explain why you are using the “site-wrapper” class in style.css and functions.php?
Wouldn’t it also be possible to configure this via the GB settings (Customizer → Layout → Container → Width of Container: 1920px)?
Thanks so much for your wonderful work!
Best regards,
Uschi
Hello Kyle, at the moment I only miss GenerateBlocks Pro, could I install the Starter anyway ? I’ll get GB pro later. Thank you
Klaus Beckmann•
Great stuff Kyle. Have you ever made a video where you explain how you actually migrate this starter site to a new customer project as the starting point? If yes, kindly provide a link. If not, could you please give me some hints? Best regards Klaus
Toni•
Hello, just a small comment: importing the GP settings, I get zero in all Header Padding positions, but in the video you set 16px to top and bottom.
Toni•
Hello, just another minor comment of little importance: the color palette does not match either. In the video, it is a gray palette, but in the downloadable file, it is a blue-gray palette (for example, neutral-900 is #111827 instead of #171717).

Thanks for the video Kyle!. Appreciate it.
I just want to bring to your notice that there is no file for ACF settings and when you are explaining it in the video, you photo is covering the fields so I am having hard time replicating it in my starter side copy. Can you please update the folder or share details for this step. Thanks gain for everything. Cheers!

No worries, I managed to copy the information. Thanks again for everything. Regards
